Slim Volumes

Poetry by Phil Rees

Under the Radar

Somewhere under the radar gangsters thrive.
Honest folk must endure surveillance from every side.

When we are driving in a car
you know exactly where we are
precisely.

You photographed our license plate
and on it stamped a time and date
to track us nicely.

Somewhere under the radar, we can hide.
If we’ve no phone or car, or gadget with chips inside.

If petty little hoodlums thrive under the radar why oh why can’t I?

(To the tune of “Over the Rainbow“.)
