Slim Volumes

Poetry by Phil Rees

Monochrome

poems are
monochrome

bereft the allusion
of black
and white
they hide in the shades

hinting difference
between gradations

snipping apart
undistinguished values

subtly dividing the world
with words
we understand
and they don’t
